He fell asleep, but he's asking for water every ten minutes.
Water goes in the room before lights out, one cup, and he knows it's there. Then the answer is the same each time he asks.

We are on night 6 and bedtime is great, but he is still up at 5am every day. Do we keep going or change the plan?
Keep going. Early mornings are the last thing to move, usually a week behind bedtime. I have pushed his nap 20 minutes later in your plan and added a 5am script. Look for it tonight.

In their own words

A mother and her children in an unguarded morning moment

Very grateful we partnered with the Teaching Sweet Sleep team. Emily was steady, calm and responsive. She helped lead us through our uncertainty, and it felt like we were part of a team. The two weeks of constant support set them apart from other consultants we looked into. We're now sleeping through the night!

Working with Randi completely changed not only our toddler's sleep, but also our confidence as parents. She took the time to understand our family, answered every question with patience and encouragement, and gave us a plan that felt realistic and manageable.

Highly recommend! So glad we worked with Teaching Sweet Sleep; I only wish we had sooner. Randi made everything really simple and easy to follow. She wasn't judgmental of the poor habits we fell into and assured us it was nothing we couldn't overcome.

Here's what we believe

Any child can learn to fall asleep on their own.

The teachable skillSleep is a teachable skill. And you are the one who can teach it.

The two-hour bedtime, the night visits, the 5am starts, the missing nap, the family bed. Nearly every one of them comes back to one skill that nobody has taught yet. That is not a failure, and it is not something a trick fixes. It is a skill, your child can learn it, and with the right plan in your hands you are the right person to teach it. Teaching is what we did for twenty one years before we did this.

Common questions from parents

Will this hurt our bond?

Well-rested children don't attach less. You'll comfort, teach and celebrate them the whole way through, and they'll know it.

They're loved, safe and warm. Every night of this.
What if I can't handle the crying?

Every approach we teach involves some protesting. What changes is how close you are while it happens, and on our gentlest path you never leave the room. Before, they were crying too. The difference now is that you're both learning something.

It's harder on you than it is on them.
How is this different from hiring you 1:1?

The 1:1 plan is one of us beside you every night for two weeks, phones on, at $629. This is the same playbook adapted to your child, with two conversations with us included, at $99. If you want a real person with you through it, hire the person. We'll tell you honestly which one you need.

Why not just ask ChatGPT?

You can, and it will give you five methods and no opinion. It hasn't sat with a thousand families, it doesn't know your child's schedule, and it won't ask you in the morning how last night went. The strategies were never the secret. The consistency is.

How long does this normally take?

Most families see bedtime change within a few nights, and most children are falling asleep on their own in two to three weeks. It zig-zags, so nights four and five are usually the test, and early mornings move last.

What's the number one mistake parents make?

Changing the plan in the middle of the night. The lesson your child is learning is that the answer is the same every time, so the hardest and most important part is doing tonight the way you did last night.
